In this series of 6-week courses, we will take a tour of the world learning the geography and culture of each continent we stop in. We will use maps, globes, and compasses and we will make a lap-book in each section.
Each 6-week course has a description of that six-week period.
This class is preceded by Hands-On Science Investigations, also for ages 6 to 10. Students taking both classes may bring a snack to eat in our classroom, supervised by Mrs. Moll. |
| An Overview of our Journey (6 Sessions - HSRx Classroom 1) |
We will begin by looking at how humans live in the world, where you live, and your location. On our tour we will look at continents, regions, oceans and people of the world. We will discover the Wonders of the World. We will build a lapbook throughout the course. We will introduce maps, globes, compasses and directions. We will make a lapbook.

| Wandering the World (7 Sessions - HSRx Classroom 1) |
| We will take a tour of the world looking at all the different countries and their people. We study how people live in their country and what makes it unique. We will focus on creating a lap book that includes the country, flag and what makes this particular country special. We will enjoy games and songs from each country. As we get nearer to Christmas, we will have fun exploring how Christmas is celebrated in other countries.

About the teacher: Program leader is Suze Moll who brings to the program over 20 years of creative experience in crafts, art, design, and construction. In addition she was a facility member of Penn State Kids College 2009, and teaches at both the Hershey Rec Center and the Friendship Center. Suze will lead the students and encourage creativity, individual development, and positive self-esteem in this class.

Classes for our home school students are designed as activities to
augment your home school program. They provide instruction, focus, guidance,
exploration, interaction, experiences, and a social opportunity. Parents are still responsible for
testing, grading, attendance, documentation and all other responsibilities of the
home school supervisor according to the law in your state. Parents will be asked to fill out an application
agreeing to the rules, policies, terms and conditions of our classes including
but not limited to behavior expectations and waver of liability before student
can attend.
